From the beginning, nobody tells you that figuring out who you are will come with sacrifices. People always mention to work hard, do your best but they fail to mention you may have to give up things you love in the process. Sometimes you have to work a job you simply hate, and/or smile around individuals you wish you could slap the mess out of.
While becoming the best version of yourself you have to learn how to adapt to any situation, you never know where life may pick you up and drop you off so you have to pack lightly. I’m not necessarily talking about material things i’m referring to emotions. One thing I learned from personal experiences is that your emotions can affect you mentally, physically, and spiritually. Nobody tells you how to overcome those things or how to make the circumstances better. Everyone just tells you “you’ll get over it” but i’m here to tell you how, well atleast how I personally deal with my situations.
One thing i’ve done for years that relaxes me is making a Vision Board. I know you may be thinking it’s corny but I promise you it’s a reflection of what you want and where you going to be. As the years go by my vision boards have gotten better and better, if I shall say so myself.
My first board was filled with alot of childish things but my latest board reminds me of how close I am to reaching my ultimate goals. Having your thoughts placed in front of you instead of in your mind helps you to put into perspective what will make you happy. It’s the first step towards your goal, just like the famous quote says “Speak what you seek until you see what you’ve said”. Another thing I like to do is log into my what I like to call ” Inspirational Beings” page. I’ve found individuals that I admire and follow them via social media. Sometimes I only log into my “IB” page because I need that extra motivation, peace and serenity, I feel after looking at individuals that I respect so much. I tend to scroll all the way to the beginning of their pages just so I can see how much they’ve evolved kinda like me.
Now maybe you guys have some ideas on how to manage or come to terms with the sacrifices that you made and if you some ideas please share. We’re all in this together ladies and gentlemen, i’m here to remind you all that we’re all in a marathon with ourselfs to become the best version of yourself and while some of us may have just started or are continuing on with our journey be mindful that it will all be worth it. The lost of friends, the aggravation, the being on a budget, the smile you reveal to others while crying inside will only last for so long. Its temporary but to reach your ultimate goal, it will all be worth it!!!
